Body Rider Fan Bike Review

Body Rider Fan Bike Review

Body Rider Fan BikeThe Body Rider Fan Bike is a low cost alternative to many upper body and lower body exercise bikes on the market today. Many people have started turning away from traditional exercise bikes in favor of more comprehensive exercise bikes that provide a full body workout more suited to general fitness.

The Body Rider Fan Bike has synchronized dual-action handlebars that work the upper body and arms in tandem with the legs. Add in to the mix a pedal powered fan to keep you cool during your workout and you have a pretty impressive exercise machine at a fraction of the cost of bigger brand name exercise bikes. The question is – does the Body Rider Fan Bike really offer a genuine alternative to more costly, recognizable exercise bikes, or is it just a cheap knock-off?

Body Rider Fan Bike: The Pros

Upper & Lower Body Exercise: The main benefit of the Body Rider Fan Bike is the combination of both upper and lower body exercise that it provides. Many people looking to get fit in their own house invest in an exercise bike that does not feature any upper body workout option, and they can often see slower results than those that do invest in a more comprehensive exercise bike.

The handlebars are extremely well designed, and although there is no option to fix them in a stationary position, they are conveniently placed so that they do not get in the way when you are looking to only work your legs. The tension on both is very easily adjusted through a simple tension knob, so you can very simply customize your workout to suit your needs mid workout. A fixed option for either the legs, arms, or both would be a huge addition, but for this price it would be asking too much seeing as many more expensive options don’t have such a feature.

Fan: Anyone who has used any kind of exercise equipment in the comfort of their own home will confirm that it can get very hot very quickly! The Body Rider Fan Bike has a built in fan to combat this exact problem. Powered by your exercise, the fan increases and decreases in power in conjunction with the speed you are doing at the time.

This is not a big powerful fan that will keep you completely cool, but it will certainly help keep your temperature at a more comfortable level. The fan can also act as an incentive to push yourself harder.  The harder you pedal the stronger the fan breeze, so when you’re reaching the end of your workout you can reward yourself with a sprint finish and a more powerful breeze!

Assembly: You wouldn’t expect assembly to be too difficult for an exercise bike at this price, but the big surprise is how easily the pieces can be put together. Many low cost exercise machines feature cheaply made parts that struggle to fit together, but the Body Rider Fan Bike can not only be put together quickly but with consummate ease. The instructions are clear and concise, and while any assembly will always be a simpler task with two people, solo assembly is certainly achievable in a reasonable timeframe.

Body Rider Fan Bike: The Cons

Seat Comfort: The Body Rider Fan Bike stumbles at the same hurdle as many of its more expensive peers; seat comfort. In fairness, the Body Rider never claims to have the most comfortable seat in the world – merely an adjustable one. The seat is a metal base with a hard rubber covering that does absolutely nothing for your behind. Thankfully, because the cost of the Body Rider is so low, factoring in the cost of a comfortable gel seat cover is no big issue for most people and the problem is moot. Even so, the Body Rider Fan Bike has missed an opportunity to really stand out from the crowd here.

Height Restrictions: The Body Rider Fan Bike claims to have an adjustable seat that can be raised to suit all shapes and sizes, but in reality this is misleading. At best, the Body Rider would be suitable for someone of height 6 1 with average length legs. Any taller than that, or even slightly shorter with longer legs, and this is not the exercise bike for you. Even with the seat position in its most raised position, tall users will find the experience a little cramped and simply not comfortable enough to gain any kind of real workout satisfaction.

Is the Body Rider Fan Bike Worth Buying?

If you are looking for a modern, technically sophisticated exercise bike, or even a luxuriously comfortable exercise bike, then you should give the Body Rider Fan Bike a miss. This is a low cost exercise bike aimed at those on a budget who are looking to invest in a cheap and cheerful exercise machine that will allow them to keep fit. The seat is very uncomfortable, and very tall users should definitely look elsewhere. However, there is an awful lot to be said for an exercise machine that costs so little and offers so much. Use the Body Rider Fan Bike properly and you will see results, and for that it deserves some credit.
